Role of the course coordinator at Penn

• prepare the course description and syllabus under the guidance of the program director

• contribute to articulating the goals and objectives of the course 

• participate in textbook selection and materials development for the course

• hold meetings with the instructors (course organization meetings at the beginning of the semester, other meetings to address specific issues of the course during the semester)

• see that the common tests and exams are written, prepared and distributed

• ensure common grading  practices and standards across the sections

• share lesson plans with all instructors

• maintain Canvas sites with curricular materials, supplementary activities, lesson ideas, realia and ancillary materials which are made available to the other instructors for classroom enrichment
